Tagalong25
This is still in the planning stage (website being built) to begin in February 2025. We start in Echuca and then on to Ballarat, St. Leonards, Apollo Bay, Port Fairy, Mt Gambier, Naracoorte and finish in Halls Gap – 9 locations of 28 days.

Tagalong24
This was the annual “Tagalong” we organised with our group of Bailey Caravan friends though New South Wales in April-May 2024. Starting in Canberra (for ANZAC Day) we then travelled to to Camden, Blackheath, Bathurst, Parkes, Dubbo, Coonamble & finishes in Lightning Ridge on Sunday 9th May 2024 (27 nights – click for route map).
We only had 12 to 13 caravan’s in our group, which made it a lot easier to manage. After the Tagalong we travelled northward with a few of our Bailey travel buddies before heading back solo to home along the east coast.

Bailey Tagalong23
This trip happened in September 2023 in South Australia, beginning in Renmark then travelling to Leasingham, Melrose & Whyalla. It was then onto the Eyre Peninsula staying in Port Lincoln, Coffin Bay, Elliston and finishing up in Streaky Bay (travelled 3,219kms over 27 nights).
After the Tagalong 4 Bailey vans travelled west across the Nullabor to Western Australia, travelling for another (travelled 8,179kms over 56 nights)

Up the East Coast of OZ to Far North Queensland
Leaving our Melbourne home on June 20 2020. Once the Covid19 restrictions began to lift we packed up and shot off on our next adventure. Heading along the east coast of New South Wales and into Queensland on 17th July. We were extremely lucky with our timing as the Queensland border was re-closed 3 weeks after we crossed it – phew & woohoooo!!!

Up the middle of OZ & turn left
Our 6 month caravan adventure of Australia from March 2018 to November 2018, travelling from Melbourne to Adelaide then up the middle via Alice Springs to Darwin, then to Broome WA, down the west coast of Australia and back across the Nullarbor to Home in Melbourne. Traveling over 25,000 kms through this amazing country, meeting heaps of friendly folk and enjoying a lifetime of experiences.

Bailey Tagalong22
This is our major trip for 2022. Leaving our Melbourne home on July 15 2022. We headed north on our way to yet another Bailey Caravan Tagalong – 28 days through QLD beginning in late August. We decided to take a detour on the way via Jerilderie and then up the Kidman Way to Griffith, Cobar, Bourke, Cunnamulla, Charleville, Longreach, Winton, Emerald, Carnarvon Gorge, Roma then over to Mudjimba on the Sunshine Coast for the start of the Bailey Tagalong on 28th August (click for route map).

Bailey Tagalong20
This trip was with a group of 16 other Bailey caravans for 3 weeks in March 2020. Similar to the Tagalong19 trip we did in 2019; but this time we started in Broken Hill NSW and traveled through outback South Australia ending up in Port Fairy (Victoria). It began on 12 March 2020, but was heavily impacted by the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic to the point where it wasn’t completed as originally planned.

Bailey Tagalong19 – Rivers, Mountains & Seaside
In this blog we travel through the Victorian high country with 18 other Bailey caravans for 2 weeks in March 2019. We then continue on with friends Neil & Sharon for 3 weeks to Queensland spending the last 2 weeks travelling solo down the east coast of Australia back home to Melbourne.

Hi Michele. I will try to remember but its a long way off and the Tagalongs usually have a different team of organisers. Best thing to do would be to keep a look out on the 2 Bailey Facebook groups towards the end of this year or early next year.

Hi Linda, there’s usually a Bailey Tagalong each year in about March to April. We’ve got a full group this year. Keep an eye out on both of the 2 Bailey Facebook groups for next years one anytime from November onwards. Each Tagalong is run by a different group of volunteers and its generally accepted that we keep it to about 20 vans.

Each year a different set of people volunteer to organise and run the Bailey Tagalong. I was one of the organisers this year, but I usually assist with creating a website which is a mini site part of my main touringwombats.com website (this year it was called tagalong21.touringwombats.com).
Each year the organisers will use the 2 Bailey Facebook groups (Bailey Caravans in AUS & Bailey Australia Owners) to seek who wishes to join. Places fill pretty quickly so you’ve got to be quick. We generally ask for a $500 deposit which goes toward paying caravan parks deposits. The $500 also ensures we get commitment for those wishing to attend and not those who say “Oh, I might like to go” etc.
So, my only advice is to keep an eye out on Facebook for the next one. Facebook and Messenger are the primary communication methods.
